Located in Topeka's historic Ward-Meade Park along the original Oregon Trail, the botanical gardens boast over 500 varieties of trees, shrubs and other plants. Ward-Meade is the first official American Hosta Society Display Garden located in the State of Kansas, but hostas are also used extensively throughout the gardens as accents and en masse. It also has an official American Hemerocallis Display Garden. Don't miss the Asian, peony, butterfly and rose gardens. The park features an Old Prairie Town, a replica of an 1800's Kansas community.
